Which parental control app is actually easy to use day to day?

I started off thinking Apple Screen Time would be enough but my son seems to bypass half of it. I’m now down a rabbit hole of monitoring apps and every review online feels fake or sponsored.

I don’t want anything extreme just limits on screen time, alerts for risky stuff, and maybe app approval.

Has anyone found one that’s actually easy to live with?

Apple screen time is unreliable. It’s not so much as your son bypassing it, the controls simply don’t stay in place. We had Qustodio. Try the free version if it only for one device to see what you think.

Not had any issues with using the built in Apple controls, as long as the kids haven’t worked out the passcode.

Mine don’t know the code but can extend it when it says one more minute. Downtime does not stay locked, the hours change as does the setting on who can call on down time. I have two set up identically yet both drop the settings differently. Genius Bar at Apple couldn’t address it and online searches have said the same thing
