Getting a PAC code, for my phone that's in abusive DHs name

Hi
I owned my own phone line with EE for years. However, as part of a plan to save money, my husband insisted on transferring ownership of the line over to him, to benefit from the Friends and Family shared data plan etc offered by EE.

So, I can no longer access the account on line, I can no longer look at the app to see how much data I've used etc etc. the phone line is not mine anymore.

As part of leaving the abusive relationship, I would like to keep my phone number, so my plan is to text PAC to 65075 which I understand should give me a PAC code in 60 seconds. However, I've seen on line that it suggests that I will need to enter a PIN number of some sort that's attached to the account, to get the PAC code.

I don't suppose anyone has asked for a PAC lately from EE and can tell me if this is correct? Will it just send me a PAC by return text or will I have to enter some other details to confirm I own the account (which I don;t any more)?

Does anyone have a friends and family account with EE that they would be willing to test for me, to see if it informs the account owner if you ask for a PAC code please?!

I've recently done this, the pin (if needed but I've never had too is in the PAC text)

I suggest trying it, but be aware the account holder will be informed that you're moving the phone to new account.

It would be better to get a new phone number when leaving an abusive relationship. I agree you shouldn't have to, but it will be much safer for you to do so.

In better news for you as he has put it in his name he will be responsible for paying the bill and cancelling the contract so you won't have to do anything for that. Just leave the sim card with him when you leave.

I just moved from bt to EE (which is the same company now) and we had to have new sims and use PAC codes. I suppose my pac codes came from bt but as they are the same company I'm not so sure. I think we got them well before the sims were delivered.

It was so ridiculously complicated. EE were absolutely terrible at their job. It's all AI 'guides' that you are communicating with and they pretend to be people which makes the situation a whole lot more complicated.

Do you know anyone who is on EE who could text and ask for a pac and see what EE ask for?

I had to do similar I asked three for some leniency due to the circumstances they said no bearing in mind this literally came out of my account so I cancelled the direct debit and lost my number that I had for over ten years

Thank you everyone for responding.

I would prefer a new number tbh so he can't contact me 😃, but I can imagine it will be such a pain, to suddenly lose the number that's linked to my Apple ID and my savings accounts 😱(need access to that money I've saved!) etc.

I've got a new sim from Giff Gaff, hidden away in my handbag. So I guess I could set that account up and switch my Apple ID, savings accounts etc to that number then whisk the GiffGaff sim out of my phone again and replace with the EE one again. Then I'd just have to hope GiffGaff don't write to me at my home address until after I've left.

Jeez, it's all so stressful, especially as I'm not very tech savvy!
