Coffee machines… Sage Barista or Sage Oracle?!

Looking to get a new coffee machine for Christmas. I was originally eyeing up the Sage Barista but I’m now wondering whether to go all out and get the Oracle. Anyone have it?

Thank you! Is it easy to clean?!

We have the Oracle at home and a Barista at work - spoiled I know!!
I much prefer the Oracle, it's more automated, and therefore easier to use.
Both make great coffee, however the Oracle unit is substantially larger.
We went into John Lewis and looked at both before buying (and got a great deal in-store on a box-damaged machine - think we got 25% off, plus some freebies from the demonstrator, and a 5 year guarantee)

Which Oracle? We currently have the Barista Touch (and love it), but have recently started considering the new Oracle Jet, as we’ve had the Barista for over 5 years.

Other than the Jet, the current machines are now around 6 years old in their technology, so it’s worth considering the Jet. It’s not a dual boiler, but heats up very quickly, so if you’re making only 1-2 cups usually, it is quicker overall than a dual boiler.

I can recommend the Barista Touch though, ours has been very well used and is still going strong. It is easy to use.

Wow, what a fabulous deal you got 🤩

Good to hear from someone who has access to both. Also, good to know that the Barista is smaller. I do not want a coffee machine dominating our kitchen and taking up too much precious counter space, so now I’m thinking the Barista might be better for me…

I've had "The Oracle" for many years and love it.

Pros
Excellent coffee!
Easy to clean / use
Reliable
Large water capacity
Grind / tamping easy to adjust
Great automation features
Dual boilers

Cons
Bit expensive
Brushed aluminium can be dented if you're careless
I had an "o" ring fail on one of the boilers after many years, which I was able to replace, but shouldn't be expensive to repair if it happens.
Needs quite a bit of worktop space.

In my experience "o" rings often fail in coffee machines, but are designed to be (relatively) easy to replace.

I've bought a couple of other Sage products and they have also been good.

Ah thank you - must admit I hadn’t looked at the Oracles in that much depth so I wasn’t aware there were different models. Good to hear about the Jet. It’s only me drinking coffee in the house as my OH doesn’t drink it. It feels quite spoiled to buy the Oracle just for myself! Barista Touch sounds good. Nice hearing it’s lasted you so well as well. I currently have a Sage Nespresso and I just hate the kind of coffee it makes now…

Get a Bialetti - you'll never look back!

Tiny, no parts to break, consistently good coffee and (so important these days) absolutely no waste!

Ahh if it’s primarily for one person, I think the Barista is all you need.

if you have a local John Lewis with a Sage counter, I would really recommend having a chat to the salesperson, they are really helpful. Plus you usually get a free coffee out of it 😆

Have you ever considered the coffee brand - Siemens? Heard it's got some cool fancy features too

I've seen a few good deals especially this one on John Lewis, half price off too!
Siemens TQ515GB9 Coffee Machine, Black

Would highly recommend xx

Thank you @kiran24 !

I’m holding out hope for Black Friday deals. My partner and I were looking at the ninja coffee machine as well x

I have the barista impress and I love it. Super easy to clean. Although I must admit I've never actually cleaned the grinder and probably should have.

We used to have a built in machine and the espresso the barista makes is a million times better.
