I don't want to be recommended as 'people you may know etc."

I am in a work what's app, will them having my phone number mean that I will be linked up to them when I start social media accounts.

How can I stop this happening.

My friend left the business and said she was getting some of them pop up on "people you may know."

They are trouble makers who say they "research people every night."

There is Authy and other 2FA apps you can use. In fact only paid up X/twitter members can use SMS 2FA (because Musk is too stingy to pay for SMSes).

On social media I have a different surname and no mobile linked and I do not have any work people on it at all. My daughter has done this from the get go eg she is camilla x and Camilla x @ whatever for school, university etc and on social media she is Dogs name y. Email address is dogs name Y @ whatever. Also handy when you get emails reminding the dog he has a package to collect from Royal Mail or even better the long lost cousin of the dog emailing her 😂so far so good - she keeps them totally separate.

you can also block certain numbers on what’s app and don’t have to give our your personal number !

Yes it looks like I need to get a third phone. It's the only foolproof way I think!

Since it's a business venture, get a different phone number and email just for the business. That will help. Then you can preemptively block them as well.
