Tattoo Goo - any good?

I'm booked in for my first tattoo at the end of the month so I'm looking to get a tattoo moisturiser before then. I need one that doesn't have lanolin in. Has anyone used Tattoo Goo, is it any good? Or what else would you recommend?

I use bepanthan for a few days then palmers cocoa butter.

What does the tattooist recommend you use? Around here if you don’t follow the tattooists aftercare advice and anything goes wrong they won’t fix it for free.

I used bepanthan nappy cream with all 3 of mine.

Never heard of tattoo goo ... but each tattooist will have something they recommend :-)

Thanks. I think Bepanthen has lanolin in though. I'll check with the artist.

I use Lush Ultra Balm after mine and they've all healed great Smile

I've used all sorts of lotions and potions over the years, and also nothing a couple of times, and had identical results in the end each time. It doesn't really matter what you use, is my assessment, so long as you keep it clean and don't pick any scabs.

Coconut oil. Tattoo goo and other tattoo related ointments are a money making gimmick! Trust me.....I'm covered

My BIL used it and his artist told him not to but I can't remember why. I've got several tattoos and my artist recommends nothing for 48 hours and then coco butter all of mine have healed brilliantly and stayed vibrant.

I second coconut oil. It has done wonders for healing this tattoo (my third).

Thanks I'll pick up some coconut oil

I used it on mine and it healed without any problems. The balm was a bit of a faff, but I liked the lotion. I’d bought it before I went for my tattoo and my tattooist recommended palmers cocoa butter lotion.

I've alternated tea tree cream and calendula cream on mine.

The weldeda calendula cream ( baby section in bigger boots / waitrose). Superb stuff.
