Movable house & run for Guinea pigs - anyone used Omlet?

Our four Guinea piggies live inside during the winter but now weather is looking nicer I’d like to get them outside in the sun and fresh air…this is their first summer (we got them in sept) so we don’t have a summer set up for them yet.

ive been looking at Omlet’s products, mostly because the hutch and run are integral to each other and can be moved about easily on wheels. The Guinea pigs don’t have to sleep out there, they can still come in for nights, so the hutch section is just to be used as a daytime hide.

I was wondering what peoples experiences were with these, mostly about how easy they actually are to move around and how easy they are for the kids to interact with the piggies. The runs look long and low in the online pictures; are kids able to climb inside and get to pets easily? Or will the Guinea pigs run to one end of the run, unable to be handled?!

thanks!

They're really small inside as well as being ££

When we had our pigs we bought a couple of the rabbit runs from BunnyBusiness . They fold up flat and are really sturdy .
There's a long spiked post that goes through each corner and we used heavy tent pegs ( the "T" shaped ones knocked into the grass to secure the run)

As they're quite high I could fit inside (if I really had to) or send my DD in.
We could also put a wooden box inside (you can get a wooden house to line up with one of the openings but I found it safer to have everything inside (foxes /cats )
A tarpaulin pegged over or a fitted dark sheet depending on the weather ( which we had anyway ) the tarp was more for windy weather , they don't like wet grass
You can get the triangular runs but they don't really give much space , I bought one as an emergency run if I had a new piggie that needed their own space .

You need to move the runs quite regularly , they're like a plague of locusts Grin

Now some photos (Pigtures) would be nice , just sayin' Wink

Bit like the one below , it had a roof , door in the top , one at the end and one in the middle . Loads of room to add things inside .

We looked at the omlet and house but it looked impossible to catch them in, unless you herded them into the house and shut the door. The back comes off so you could get them.

We went for an omlet Zippi run instead. It’s been great so far, I got the adpators so the whole roof lifts up and you can get in and grab them. It’s sturdy and feels strong which was the main concern for me. I got the one with a skirt to try and deter foxes. I feel it’s a lot stronger than our wooden one and hopefully will last longer as it won’t rot. I just put a few little plastic hides in the run with them so they feel safe and use a tarp over a bit over it to keep them dry if it did rain.
