DD's beautiful GP has had to be pts this evening, cancer.
All very upset. Sadsad]sad]

How long do we have to decide whether to get a new companion for the surviving one v rehoming her? I know they don't like being alone for too long.

I'm so sorry, GP's have such a lovely nature and become part of the family.
From my experience, my surviving pig became withdrawn and stopped eating about 4 days after we lost her mate. We made the decision to rehome to a GP sanctuary a week after she became a lone GP as we weren't in a position to take on a new pig. She lived out her days very happily in her new home.

Thank you. DD is too upset to discuss at the moment.

If your daughter wants to keep remaining GP, get a rescue piggie sooner rather than later. Otherwise current pig will either become depressed or it’ll become used to be alone and could be aggressive to a mate later down the line.

New companion found. Smile
They have done a meet and greet through C&C panels.
Photos to follow another day.

They are currently partitioned across the enclosure. Tried removing partition but new one was aggressive to old one who can't move away fast enough.

Will go slower.

Hoping that just being near will be OK for now.
