Now have to work 12 your shifts against my control.

They're home alone all week, I'm not home to top up their food. They are constantly screaming when I come home as they overeat on the food I put instead of eating and revisiting.

I feel HORRIBLE, please don't make me feel worse 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I've called sooooo many places, no one has space!!! I'm in London, will deliver ANYWHERE upto 2 hours away.

Thanks!

Have you tried Arc Guinea Rescue and Greenwich Rabbit rescue?

blahab · 18/11/2023 17:15

Or Blue cross?

blahab · 18/11/2023 17:16

Or even the RSPCA? Or Woodgreen rescue?

Please don't give them to a stranger online.

Can you get some sort of times feeder for them? I have one for my cats?

ClarasZoo · 18/11/2023 17:17

Pooh Piglet Rescue Sussex?

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 18/11/2023 17:17

Whatever you do please check out who you give them to. Such lovely little animals.

The vast majority of their diet should be hay, like 80-90%. My piggies get huge bundle of hay each morning, one portion of green leafy veg once a day and one portion of vitamin C biscuits, again once a day, normally in the evening. They really aren't pets that need someone to be constantly feeding them? I'm sorry you are struggling with them but honestly think 12 hour shifts are neither here nor there from the point of view of feeding them?
I totally understand though if 12 hour shifts are making you feel exhausted and unable to deal with the burden of taking care of them, just trying to reassure you that if it's only the feeding that's the issue that it shouldn't worry you?

PlimplePlop · 18/11/2023 17:25

Mine do squeak a lot when they think that more veggie treats may be on the way, but they aren't starved or sad, they are just greedy and vocal about it 😊

Grimchmas · 18/11/2023 17:29

Surely a timer feeder is the solution :)

Don't get yourself upset about the squeaking- veg twice a day, half a cup of pellets once a day (or split in half) and ad lib hay is perfect. As long as you have more than one, then they're not "alone" all day - they're perfectly happy with each other x
