What to do after rabbit escaped

Our little madam has either managed to dig her way to freedom or made a tasty snack for a predator, she hasn't been in the garden since yesterday and I don't think she's been in her hutch overnight as there are still treats left from me tempting her in last night. I have had neighbours checking their gardens and put it on our local residents group for people to keep an eye out, but I'm wondering how long before we say she's not coming back? What should I do?

She is chipped so if a vet has her handed in we'd be told. I'm hoping she'll turn up but how long do we give it before we say she's gone and do things like cancelling the vet plan and getting rid of the hutch? Not knowing is the worst bit, I can deal with a bad outcome but I'd like to know what's happened rather than this awful not knowing.

Unfortunately it sounds like you've done all the things you can. They often don't actually roam that far and can squeeze into very small places such as behind bins, deep into bushes or under sheds. The smaller and darker the better.

Was she free ranging in the garden unsupervised? Sadly this is exactly why that's never recommended :(

She was allowed the run of garden when we are home and in and out, but obviously even if we're around she's not on show all the time and spends a lot of time in the bushes and going backwards and forwards to her hutch. She's had eight years of this so not a bad innings. She (and our other rabbit who died recently) were both very spoiled and well looked after, I just wish we knew exactly what happened. We're going to move her hutch from its enclosure and pack up all the bits next week, I don't think she's coming home now sadly.
