Dry Flaky skin on rabbit's neck

My rabbit has been moulting for the last few weeks and I had noticed some dandruff like flakes. Today I have noticed he's got a balding patch on the back of his neck. The skin is normal coloured, doesn't look sore, but is incredibly dry and flaky. I have not seen him scratching it and it doesn't seem to be bothering him.

I have googled and read about walking mites, but I can't see any evidence of mites. Is there anything I can do at home for him? Or is it a trip to the vets again. I only took him 2 weeks ago as I was worried he wasn't eating much and I thought he might have spurs but they checked him over and he was given a clean bill of health, and funnily enough as soon as we got back from the vets he started eating like a horse!

We had a Guinea pig like this and it was mites. We couldn’t see them. Sorry, sounds like a vet trip.

Mites can be almost microscopic, so yes it could well be mites. Definitely worth a trip to the vet.

I forgot to update this, but thought I would incase anyone else ever has this. I took the rabbit to the vet and it was only dandruff - no lice. He had a thorough check and they look at it under a microscope. The vet thinks that because it had been so hot he was trying to moult extra quickly and the heat and that had affected his skin. There isn't anything I need to do. I've just been grooming him everyday and trying to get as much of the dead skin off his fur as possible so that he isn't a portable snow mobile!
