Indoor guinea pig cage?

Hi all
Now it’s getting colder we thought we may get an indoor cage for our two guinea pigs and bring them in at night. But put them out in the day in their larger hutch so they can run around. Does anyone do this?

Where is the best
Place to buy a reasonably priced indoor cage?

You can't really swap them between indoors and outdoors - the change in temperature can be very dangerous as they aren't native to the UK. If you bring them in they'll need to stay indoors til next spring.
If you want to keep them indoors, you can make a C&C cage for around £40. Most store-bought cages are too small unfortunately.

I’d get a large indoor enclosure for them, and keep them indoors. They won’t cope well with the sudden temperature change of going from a heated house overnight to outdoors on a cold winter’s day. Ours live indoors in our hallway in a ‘puppy playpen’ we bought from Amazon (for less than £30) - it has 8 60cm square panels, and we have it configured in a rectangle 60x180cm. We use a waterproof mattress sheet on the bottom, terry side up, with the elasticated bit going up the sides to keep the hay mess in. Then fleece blankets on top of that. We have two guinea pigs in there, and they have quite a bit of space to run around.
