Dwarf hamster problem

We bought two female dwarf hamsters 3 months ago. One started to develop a sore on her back end which had grown and is now red raw and bleeding /weeping. Took her to the vets before this stage but nothing was really advised except to say that it might be an injury. We bathed it and changed to a soft bedding. As it's now much worse, I'm taking her to another vet tomorrow but wondered if anyone has any experience of this?

Is it definitely a sore, or could it be caused/made worse by her sister? Dwarf hamsters have a habit of bullying/eating each other.

If it's definitely a sore, then search out an exotics vet who is more likely to be able to successfully treat a small rodent.

Thank you. The other one has grown more and we've noticed that they're fighting more than they used to. I'm separating them tonight until we see the vet.

She had a skin infection. Antibiotics and painkillers have cured the problem and her fur is growing back nicely. She also now has her own cage :-)

We had two roborovski sisters. They were fine for 6 months then one would chase the other and bite its bottom. We had to separate them from then onward

Excellent, hope she continues to be happy and healthy.
