Boar guinea pig nippy with people likely to be aggressive to other piggies?

Hi, I am trying to make arrangements for companion/s for our 3 year old sow who lost her friend. There is a pairing service at our local GP refuge but they are being really slow and rubbish about getting back to me, so I am looking at other options. A sow and neutered boar pair adults are advertised locally, they have admitted the boar is 'nippy' with people. I am thinking we could cope with that but I am not sure if this means he may be an aggressive guinea pig with other piggies? Any advice gratefully received. We have a 3 x5 C and C so quite massive and a similar size run for outside.

Also wondering how much it costs to neuter a guinea pig?

I had one of my noars castrated at a Specialist Guinea-Pig Vet , it was £58 about 5 years ago . So you'd be looking at £60ish .

Is the boar ok with the sow he lives with ?
There is no guarentee they'd accept a strange sow into their bonded pair , you would need to do the introductions on neutral ground and give them all a pre-bon bath to smell the same .

Some guinea-pigs bite . It makes me so angry when I see guineas (usually on Gumtree ) where the seller cheerfully trills they never bite

You do not know what is going on in their heads , they are vunerable rodents and their only defence is their rodenty teeth.
Though it would be worth finding out what triggers his biting ? Has he gpt a sore spot ? Does he feel unsecure when they lift him? Is he being bullied by his cagemate and cannot fight with her ?
I had one sow who would give a pinch with her teeth if she felt the need (she was a Ruby Eye so I think her eyesight contributed and she was an ex breeder so probably not handled much ) but she was a lovely little piggie .
And our big boar used to kick if we touched one side . He was checked at the vet , no reason for it . But he kicked or airsnapped !

If you adopt them are you equipped to keep them as a pair and your sow as a side by sider if it doesn't work out bonding ?

How much are they wanting you to give for the pigs ? If they are asking piggies + castration fee it could be £100 .

Thanks very much for your response, that is really helpful. No keeping them seperately would be a real pain for me. I think I will wait a bit longer for the rescue centre to get back to me, if not introducing a baby or a pair of babies is probably my best bet?
I have bought a C&C which takes up half my living room and am not using it for Womble so that it can be neutral territory for introductions!
