She was a grumpy old bugger(about 7 yrs old) and had been on her own since her mate died. Dd1 found her dead earlier this evening with no warning, she'd been fine earlier with no signs of illness at all

Aww, I’m sorry. Hope your little girl is ok.

Bunnies go downhill very quickly and often don’t show any sign of illness, they just die suddenly. They’re such heartbreakers.

Hi this happened to my rabbit I found him dead on Christmas morning, went to feed him and he was gone he was only 18 months old, gorgeous little boy, I've never lost a bunny that young before. My oldest was 9 , I mentioned it to a vet friend and she said it could've been bloat but rabbits can go down very quickly.

Oh that's so sad :(

It could have been his heart, that's one thing that can take them ever so quickly.

I’m very sorry for your losses.

I take it they’d had their rhdv2 injections? A couple of people I know lost rabbits suddenly to that.

Rabbits are prey creatures so hide any discomfort or illness well so they are not picked off by predators. It's not uncommon sadly for them to die suddenly as their symptoms are not shown/noticed. They have very sensitive stomachs and are prone to stasis, where their digestive systems slow down and is usually fatal if not treated quickly.

They're such amazing pets. Sorry for your loss Flowers
