So me and DH has had our hamster now since November but hes still not used to us. We have tried lots of different things to try and get him used to us. He will take food from our hands and we have managed to get him out. However, lately hes just interested in his bed and has been so hard to get him out to even clean his cage. It really needs cleaning but I dont want to force him out. At night time he is on his wheel alot so I think hes happy in his cage. Any help would be good!

When I was a child I use to clean my rabbit's hutch whilst he was in it. He was annoyed, would hastely rearrange the fresh straw and wood shavings and bite the sweeping brush but he wasn't really scared and would happily take food from me or be handled.

Update! Just got him out and cleaned his cage but he didn't move in his ball, didn't want to come out so I've had to just put him back in his cage :(

My hamster was a nightmare when we got him ( both dh and I got bit multiple times and they were deep) I used to get dh thermal gloves and rub them in sawdust to get him out, I also used to do it at night when he was more active so he wasn't too disturbed.
Slowly I'd put my hands in i gloves but it took a good couple of months until he trusted me enough but he's still not a walk onto your hand creature he likes to be scooped up.
Also I'd make a point of petting him in the cage every time he was awake and made sure he knew I was the one feeding him.
Now he's the chillest little guy ever and to get him out of his bed for a cage clean I just have to shake his bag of food and he comes to the door ready to be picked up 😂
He's also not a big runner in the ball, I think some just don't like the feeling of it.
