Fleece Scraps?

I have two young male guinea pigs. They are currently indoors and we are gradually acclimatising them with a view to being im an outdoor hutch full time in the spring/summer.

Indoors we have gone for fleece liners with inco pads underneath (shavings and straw or hay bedding so messy in our carpeted living room!).

I want to give them something cosy to snuggle into in their bed area, which isn't hay. I have lots of leftover fleece and rags. Can I cut up squares of fleece and cotton for them to burrow into? Or will they eat it? Any other tips for a fleece novice?

P.S. I am providing plenty of hay as a food in a hay rack, just not as bedding.

They shouldn't eat it , but make sure there's no threads loose or edging (I used to buy Primark ones with a blanket stitching along the edges which I cut off )

Make sure the squares aren;t too small or they might get tangled it .
My guineas like to burrow in hay , or have a hidey box. If they were unwell and needed a comfy bed just to support them I put a fleece down and roll the edges under in a roll, bit like cot bumpers .

Mine would run under the fleece when I was trying to straighten it , we'd watch these lardy little lumps moving till they found daylight .

Guinea=pigs are amazing but can be phenomenally dense Grin
