I'm working late (lesson planning) and am being happily distracted by new baby pig running circuits round the cage popcorning Grin

Lovely work avoidance!

Love it nothing as speedy as a baby popcorn! I miss mine going nuts, they are all getting on a bit now and tend to jump in place from side to side instead!
I think I only saw 3 properly popcorn when they went on the grass the other day.

Brizzlepigs are jealous, they haven't been on the grass yet this year and baby Brizzlepig has never been on the grass. Only one of ours popcorns often, the others wander around and only do anything energetic when they hear the rustle of a plastic bag and then they stand on back legs looking at my accusingly if a treat isn't forthcoming.

I'll see the late night pop-corning and raise you Late Night Bottle Rattling.
GP7 has decided she likes attacking the water bottle at 3am .
She chews the end, rattles it about a bit . Out of all the pigs GP7 and GP8 were the only ones who drank from a bottle . I am mre than happy that she dronks just not in the early hours !

And there's the Late Night Singing.
We've had a couple of singers (GP5 and GP6) , I don;t think this one is musically blessed . She doesn't popcorn either though .

Yes, late night bottle rattling. Our now deceased GP#4 would wake up with his bottle rattling.
Tonight they have been squabbling a bit, why is it that cleaning out the cage always results in them asserting their dominance a bit? Silly piggies. They have all retreated downstairs and are all asleep down there now, for some reason the top with fresh microfibre towels, hay and a new pig house does not meet with approval.

Madampig usually settles down at night but Currentbun likes to play throwing games with his toys at 3am. They're wooden toys thrown onto a hard kitchen floor. If we hide his toys at night he rips up his newspaper lining his cage and spreads it around the utility room or he tips up the laundry basket and plays in the contentsShock. I suppose he has to keep himself busy.

Playing with toys overnight, how dare they ! Grin ours mostly sleep at night now.

what does pop corning mean?

BrizzleMint · 28/02/2019 20:39

It's what excited guinea pigs do.

Ahhhh Baby Piggies Grin

Our boars were more RumbleStrutters ( stalking along with a throaty purr , body held rigid , then 'Squeak' and jump turning 180 degrees to stalk back) It is quite impressive .

GP1 (my DD first lardy boar) popcorned in the garden, I though he'd been stung Shock . He put his head down and threw his ample rump up, twisting it to the side .

GP5 (little Himmy) used to run circles round the run, right round the perimeter , under the tunnel, stop a second and off again. Just for the joy of doing so.

BrizzleMint · 02/03/2019 20:48

Ours all seem to be pop corners when young but not when they are older. We have one rumble strutter who I can only liken to a cross between Mr Bean and a male Teresa May!
