Insurance for rabbits

After last weekend's slightly stressful and expensive visit to the emergency vets I thought I'd look into insurance for our 2. Have you got any recommendations? A quick Google makes it look as if lots of insurerers only cover cats and dogs. Thanks

I think 'bought by many' cover rabbits.

Ask your vet which one they recommend? They will know the ones which pay promptly and cover whole life .

They won't cover neutering or vaccines , any illnesses which you could immunise against (if you chose not to vaccinate) , anything cosmetic , second episodes of flystrike .

Most won't cover any pre-exsisting illnesses so whatever lead your rabbits to the vet this time might not be covered (hope they're ok )

I did look at cover when I got our first guinea-pigs , that is even more difficult to find than rabbit insurance ! The price was ££ seven years ago .
(So, I didn't buy it)
I think vets can do a lot for rabbits whereas sadly by the time a guinea-pig shows signs of needing a vet , chances are they've gone beyond help.

I use PetPlan, thankfully haven't had to claim on it though and get a discount through work. Because I had mine insured for a lifetime, my 13 year old was still insured up until her death (of natural old age). Most vets will happily deal with PetPlan.

Petplan. Vets apparently aren't allowed to recommend them but my friend is a vet and uses petplan herself for her rabbits so I do too. They've been fantastic
