The children aged 12 and 14 got 3 guinea pigs over a year ago.We keep good care of them and they have a large pen in the playroom.I feel the guinea pigs are not getting the attention they deserve and we have decided to rehome them.We live in Ireland.I don't want to just hand them over to anyone.I would appreciate any advice.

The children went out and bought them? Or the adults did?
Spend time with them. You’ve committed to getting the poor things.
Or if you CBA find a specialist rescue. And don’t get any more pets.

TBH, if there are 3 of them (piggies) and they're in a room that is used , then they will get interaction. With each other and whoever is in the room.

Our 3 are indoors now for winter. They chatter away , we interact with them and DD will take one through to her room or bring them for a cuddle.

Who feeds and cleans them? Checks them over?

Guinea pigs really don't take a lot of looking after , though ours needs cleaned daily and fed twice a day

Rescues are over flowing .

And as I always tell my DD , the guinea-pigs are mine by law because I;m the adult . I adopted them.
As the adult , the buck stops with you .

What solution are you looking for?

Your circumstances haven’t changed by the sound of it, you’re just bored with them? I make my dc play with ours, they are happy to once they start but the allure of Xbox is greater. So I tell them to go play with the pets just as I tell them to tidy rooms. I really think pets are for life unless you really can’t take care of them, but you can!
