Hi guys.

I don’t have any children as yet however once we are married next year we will start thinking about it.

We have recently adopted two mini Lionhead rabbits. They will be neutered. They currently have a 6 ft cage in our office. I was just after some experience of bunnies and young children. My partner seems to think that if we just shut the door they won’t be able to get in without us and then problem solved. Bunnies do come out obviously but would come out either down stairs or in the garden in the evening.

Are you worried about the bunnies hurting the children or the children hurting the bunnies?

Either way, I would enjoy your bunnies for now and not worry about possible future children.

My children have grown up with rabbits in the house and garden and we've never had a problem. In fact, I think my daughter loves the rabbits more than she love me :) Children just need to know the rules from the start - just the basics like being kind and gentle and not opening the cage unless they have permission.

Yes a bit of both really... we discussed potentially getting a lock on that door so that when children are young they can’t actually access the room.. as we all know they are mischevious
