I have four 10 year old rabbits. Have taken excellent care of them all over the years, all regularly vaccinated vet-checked etc. Educated myself about rabbit illness in the early days but have since forgotten as th

He’s got diarrhea, or liquid poo. Every time I hold him there are poo potato prints on my top. He is withdrawn and hiding. Not teeth grinding. He is usually a good hay eater and I haven’t found him like this long enough to check whether he is eating properly or eating hay.

Remind me what to do? Do people still use fibreplex?

Vet here. If any chance he isn’t eating, you need to seek vet advice asap. Unlike other animals, even short periods of not eating can have serious consequences for rabbits. “Loose faeces” can sometimes actually be uneaten caecotrophs (soft pellets they pass overnight and then eat!) - not eating these can be a sign of trouble. Also beng withdrawn and hiding may indicate pain.

Definitely needs to go to see a proper rabbit savvy vet if you haven't already. If it's very liquid he could be at risk of dehydration.

How is he doing now?
