Got 2 baby pigs a month ago. Both have been happy and eating. One always a bit smaller and skinnier than the other but lovely.

A couple of weeks ago little one was a bit snotty and sneezing. Vet said they were perfectly healthy and maybe it was the wood shavings so swapped to fleece.

They’ve been in their hutch in the kitchen until yesterday as it was so chilly. Moved them out, lots of hay, new fleece on the bottom.

2 hours ago I had a stroke and chat and now the little one is dead. It’s too sad. Any idea why? Or what I do with remaining piglet?
Was it cold? New fleece? Something underlying?

Should I bring remaining piggy back indoors?

Definitely bring it back indoors it'll need company and keeping warm. These creatures can have transient lives, you saw a vet not sure what else you could do. Don't suppose it was shocked by anything do you? Anyway, definitely bring lonely boy indoors now and keep him company.

Guinea pigs are prone to stroke and easily frightened, perhaps something outside (such as a cat or fox) came up to the hutch and frightened it. Maybe bring the other one inside and keep in the house?

Is the vet a small furries exotic vet? Unless they have a great speciality of GPs they can often miss things. They are very good at hiding illnesses. Snotty (sounded congested/crusty eyes) and sneezing are a big sign of a uri. They go downhill rapidly so could have been ill and then moving them outdoors is a big change in environment so could have triggered a decline. As others have said it could have gotten a shock and died. Keep the other indoors and keep an eye on feeding, drinking, noises etc. Flowers
