Hi wonder if anyone can help. What' the best way to litter train a rabbit? I'd like him to go in one corner of his hutch or run (it's always open) and when he's in the house would like him to use a litter tray. I know this is possible as we did it with mine when I was a kid, it was a rather long time ago tho so can't remember how! thank you!

A nice sized tray, big enough to for them to lie down in, a good paper-based litter, some hay in there too as they like to eat while they go. Use several trays and put them where the bunny favours - they train you really ;)

As bunnygeek says! Put the litter tray where the bunny likes to go and also add some of their soiled bedding if possible for inspirationWink

Exactly what they said! My bun caught on straight away I just keep her hay rack next to the litter tray.

Bunny will decide...just follow his lead! Pick up some of his poos and put them in the tray to speed the process

ok next question - any way to stop him peeing on me/the dcs/the sofa?!!

He's marking territory. Is he neutered? That could help. Bunny pee can be quite strong smellingSad

no he's only a baby still - 10 weeks or so

Get him neutered as soon as you can. It helps calm them down somewhat. My boy would scentmark everything until he was neutered and then never really bothered again.

Also put some of his wee-soaked bedding (or something) in his toilet so he knows he supposed to go there. He'll get there, he's still only little.

Peeing on the sofa is a territory/dominance thing. Neutering will help and he'll probably stop when he's settled in properly. I used to put puppy training pads on the sofa.
