Just wondered how Millie and Fuzzbert and any other recently 'under the weather' small furries are doing?

AND ... how all the youngster piggies acquired over the past months are settling in and growing?
Ness feels as if she has been here forever. We seem to have moved on from Sadie No to noooooooo Nessa Smile

I wonder too East. Hope the gang are all okay.

My two are miffed that outdoor play is no longer permitted (we had snow this morning), but are learning to make the most of their kitchen floor time. I’ve been collecting boxes for them to play in.

Sane here. The days seem very long for them.
Nessa gas loads of energy which she uses races round and round the utility room in figures of 8. Sadie half heartedly follows her but is happy to just looks about.
We had snow overnight and early morning so today is the first day they've not had cut grass.
Oh the attitude because the only grass available was the seed tray grown stuff !!
spoilt much

Same here, I look for updates but often........... nada.

The 70 hogs have been indoors pretty solid since before Guy Fawkes, I think they've has 1-2 days in the Pighouse with their little heater and deep bedding but they are middle aged now Hmm all about 3.6yo so they don't feel that they should jepodise themselves.

I did wonder what they did all day and the answer has to be bu**er all. Though Bert did stand up on his hind legs to reach his parsley bell (I thought he'd rock himself to sleep Grin )

I need to send DD out with the grass scissors , they've troughed the Readi-Grass.

Good to hear Nessa has settled well and MadamPig .
Can't believe we've had GP7 and GP8 for 18 months , its like they've always been here (GP7 is a noisy little soul though, 200 Decibel Breakfast Call)

Oh my goodness Millie mentioned in despatches Wink. Sorry for not updating.

I have excellent news. Recent inspection of Millie's lump shows that the huge hole in her bum not the one she's supposed to have has healed over pretty well. Never expected that to heal but she has a thin layer of scar tissue over it.

She now has homemade cuddly fleece mats in her hutch which she lays her poor lumpy body on. She's more cuddly these days. In her younger days she would attempt to climb on our heads to look out the window. Now she is happy to have lap time provided a handful of grass is offered and then she has a little nap. Leaves us with the dilemma how long do we risk having a sleeping guinea pig snuggled up (super cute) before we get wee'd or pooped on.

And she still grooms us to let us know she is Top Piggy.

Thanks for all your concern Smile

GP6 and GP7 both had the dreaded HayPoke (but DD and I dispensed Piggie First Aid with sterile gauze and boiled salt water and within 24 hours they were 100% better - otherwise they'd have been shipped off to Piggy Vet)

We found a fircone in their hay Shock
I was hoiking it out of the bag, felt something hard.... what the Jeff. Pinecones don't grow in grass hay fields do they?

Usually sticks, thistles and on one occasion , a wing

Good to hear Millie is pootling along nicely Smile

EastMidsGPs · 27/11/2017 08:09

Muses ... are pine cones ok for piggies to play with / eat?

Had my babies over 3 months now - doesn't time fly?! Flick is much less nervy than she was, but Blaise still runs if I so much as think about looking at her. She ALMOST let me life my foot onto my bed so I could put a sock on this morning, but ran at the last minute (the cage is on the floor next to the bed). Hazel, my old girl, has a lump in her belly but, despite losing weight after her sister died has retaliated and put a lot back on, and the lump isn't doing anything so all is well. Or rather, it would be, if I bothered to feed her occasionally. Friends were feeding them at the weekend, except, according to the GPs, they didn't turn up with food AT ALL and they were starving by the time we got home. The fact that one of my friends went on the Friday morning, even though we were still here, and gave them a second breakfast is neither here nor there. Hazel denies this ever happened, though thinks said friend should come round and provide second breakfasts (and lunches, teas and suppers) every day of the week!

The youngsters still do lots of running around and climbing. Hazel expends LOTS of energy watching them. This much exercise is not good for middle-aged, starved pigs. Could someone please call the SSPCA on her behalf??
