Hi all

Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction please.

Our cat is 11 year old and of late is being picky with his food, past 3-4 days and nights he's vomiting bile up, and having trouble with his back end, he's going but my god does is smell. I've said to DH he needs to see a vet but stingey bum that he his won't take him. Are there any vets on here that could advise me on what to do. His back legs also this morning I noticed were giving way. Xx

Yes go to the vet. Ignore your dh

dementedpixie · 24/11/2017 12:26

Can you not take him rather than your dh

Namechange90 · 24/11/2017 12:43

Claws come out for me and no cat carrier plus I don't drive DH has to do it x

I don't drive I still manage to get mine to the vet. Bus/ train/taxi not an option for you?

MrsFoxPlus4 · 24/11/2017 13:53

Prepare for a few scratches & make the journey yourself. Sounds like he’s really poorly 😔

dailydance · 24/11/2017 13:53

Get a lend of a cat carrier or go buy one. Seriously, your cat is clearly unwell and you're dicking about for days.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 24/11/2017 13:55

Borrow a cat carrier, ask on those Facebook pages. Some people are always happy to help. Failing that I have one from B&m was £15 it’s bright pink but it does the job!

Our cat had similar symptoms this week. (He's 13) Off his food, vomiting bile. We were going to take him to the vet but he turned a corner and started wanting small bits of food. Within 24 hours he was back to normal. It may be a virus. But our boy was better within 3 days whereas you say your cat's has already gone on for 4 days, so he might be dehydrated too which is dangerous. I'd take him to the vet

Once you get a carrier, wrap him in a towel like a swaddling a baby and pop into the box. Remove towel. Does a neighbour have a carrier?

Sad

Please post this on Litter Tray for more Cat Based Advice , you'll get someone who's been in similar.

Get a taxi or anything you have to do to get your cat treated ... and WTF is your DH on denying vet treatment to a sick animal. It is illegal to withold vet treatment (alongside the moral issues of letting an animal suffer)

For that I would : ignore his stingeyness and say either drive me or pay for a cab.

DumbledoresApprentice · 24/11/2017 21:38

Sounds like he needs to see a vet urgently. Hope he’s OK.

cherrycola2004 · 24/11/2017 21:43

Weak hind legs could be kidneys. Buy cat carrier (why haven't you got one?) and get a taxi that's what I do as I don't drive

Namechange90 · 24/11/2017 21:44

Took cat to the vet, made DH run me after he finished work. Keeping him in over night, he's on a drip as he's dehydrated and a good drip due to not eating. Hopefully know more tomorrow. Thanks all xx

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/11/2017 23:16

Crossing everything for him. He's in the right place now.
Hope you get good news in the morning.

Wolfiefan · 24/11/2017 23:23

So glad you got him there. Hoping for good news.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 27/11/2017 11:54

How's he doing?

Namechange90 · 27/11/2017 14:45

Hi sorry forgot to update he's so much better. Came home after a night in vets. They have told us it was just a bug. They said if there's more blood in his poo to go back xx
