We have a rescue piggy who we've had for a year now, he's always prone to sneezing - not often - maybe once a day and it's just how he is. Today he's done his customary sneeze but we've noticed that he has a snotty nose. He's eating, drinking, and has been playing with the toys that they have including tossing one up and down on his nose like he's a seal.

I'm not sure if we should be concerned, I've looked online and it said that a cold is often fatal for piggies Sad

I would take him to see a local vet! It's the best option for you (reassurance) and him (treatment, if needed). He might be absolutely fine but definitely worth the peace of mind by having him checked out by a professional.

Hope that he gets better soon. :)

Having had a poorly pig recently who needed antibiotics for a uri, I would take him up to the vet and ask them to check him out. Best to find a piggy savvy vet if possible. They can have a listen to his chest and advise if there's an infection. Does he have hay in his cage?
Might just be a reaction to snuffling about it in but imo, best to check as they can be serious.

I'm impressed with him playing with his toys. Mine have plenty and apart from the seagrass tunnel which they run through and also eat, they ignore pretty much everything else in favour of eating and sitting

Confused

Thanks. They have all edible toys like seagrass balls, a string of seagrass balls and toys made from coconut shells - we put bits of fruit and veg in the upturned coconut shells and hang them up from the upstairs bit so they stand up and pull stuff out of them.

I'll get him to the vet next week early next week (I need to wait for pay day Sad )

No more runny nose, it must have just been snuffling in the hay and marigold mix 😀
