3 boars?!

We have a pair of Rex boars who are about 7 months old.
Last week we rescued a baby boar on his own.
I know three males is almost impossible. But not sure what options we have.

Can we let all three have supervised 'play time' together in a neutral place?

Can I push the cages together?

Do I look for another very young male to bond with the single male? I just worry that with four guineas (we were supposed to leave it at two) there is so much more to go wrong with health, or bonding etc).

Any other ideas are welcome?

Oh this is making me pig broody. I always had Rex's - they are just the best! Hope things continue to go well.

Boars in pairs do work well but bear in mind it's a completely synthetic set up. In the 'wild' they'd live as a group of sows+their boar.

We've had boar pairs, boar+sows, sow pairs and now a boar side-by-side with a sow pair.
Each brings its own challenge. Sometimes you do everything right but they have their own ideas

Our original boar pair liked to sleep in the same hay box but had their own corners (evident by pooh nests )
If GP2 was taken away from GP1, GP1 went into overdrive fretting.

You need to start a new thread entitled "Four Boars" Grin

I extended their cage! They are so energetic and race about but their cage was smaller than the big Rex boys who don't race anywhere ever.

So I've done an extension. Just hope dh doesn't notice that they have taken over the entire room!

That's wonderful! I wish I had the space to make mine so big. Maybe I can persuade DP to move out...?

You're lucky that you don't need to have a roof on it. I don't entirely trust my cat, otherwise I'd do the same. Would make it much easier to clean.

Have the rexes taken any more interest in their new neighbours? Hazel just lets the babies get on with their zoomies, whilst she sits and munches. Suits her!

I like her attitude. Grin

They have now taken over the play room. Kids never played in it anyway. They're in there more now the gps are in there.

I might have to put the sides a bit higher but I will wait and see.

The Rex's have noticed I think (they are loud at food time!). And can get a better look now but they don't seem too bothered. I'm hoping they realise there's no inconvenience to them so ignore them being there. We done have enough room if anyone falls out!

Lucky guineas to have a room of their own! Now you just need to put lino down and a divider down the middle and they would have the whole floor space between them! It's lovely that the kids can go in and play with the guineas.

It's nice to hear the rexes aren't too bothered by their new neighbours. You can imagine what they're saying about them though, can't you? They'll be posts up on GuineasNet about the young things that have moved in next door who keep running around the place and won't stop still. Tee hee!

Hazel has great attitude, that's for sure! If only I fed her once in a while then she might be able to take more interest in what's going on around her. Or something!
