This evening completely out of the blue and without warning my darling girl passed away. I found her in the cage.

To say iv cried buckets is an understatement :(

Obviously my main concern has to be for my remaining girl, please help me, what should I be doing for her?

Is it worth taking the deceased to the vet? Would they be able to tell me.why? Do I need to get the remaining checked over?

Iv never done this before. How soon does my other sweet girl need a new cage mate?

Thank you for any advice...

RIP my darling girl... I hope you know how loved you were xxx

Aww Grin

Oooh she is gorgeous, love the dark eyes with the white coat (and YY pink claws are easier Grin )

The bonding of two pigs can be a balancing act as you found out (boars are usually pretty laid back, its the sows that have the feist)
Just because an adult sow lives with others doesn't mean they'll instantly bond .(My latest two lived in a group, but are very judgey of the original trio)

Little piglet will be confused and wary but once she settles and becomes familiar she'll be lovely. You have all the fun of finding out her favourite foods and funny little ways.

Shamrock for Daisy and New Piggie. Have you chosen a name for her?

We've had a bonding veggie session and all is going well!

Our girls have named her buttercup :)

Fantastic. What is the age difference?

Sleepingbunnies · 10/10/2016 08:24

3 year age difference... not much cuddling going on in the cage, I'm really nervous and watching them like hawks, which probably doesn't help!

We were advised lots of hidey places which we've done and they seem to be keeping away from each other so hoping it's just taking a little time for her to settle in.
