Our lovely bunny was chased out of our garden today by stupid young cat. She ran under the gate and literally vanished into thin air. We are surrounded by fields full of foxes and buzzards, bot to mention a main road. She is part of a pair and her mate is sitting on his chair tonight in front of the fire looing very forlorn. We have hunted high and low and it is freezing outside. I have a terrible feeling that we have seen the last of her. So upset.

Oh pink. So sorry to hear that Sad it's so sad to lose a much loved pet. And rabbits are such characters too.
At least have a little comfort that if she was unscathed you know she wasn't attacked and therefore frightened Thanks

Thank you! I know I had imagined her been carried away by a fox/ eaten by buzzards. But now I'm thinking she was so close and we could have found her if we had just looked in the right place. Such an avoidable thing too. Should have locked up the bloody cat. Sorry, am being self indulgent.

Ohh Sad news pinkhouse

It is so difficult when there are no answers. You can't beat yourself up though, sounds like you searched thoroughly.

Sometimes animals just die no rhyme or reason. As you say no sign of injury.

You have her body so I suppose there's small comfort in knowing, not searching in vain.

It is sad that she was so close though.
How is her rabbit husband?

pinkhousesarebest · 13/12/2015 07:10

We showed rabbit husband her body yesterday... he seems ok, still eating. We are worried about the cat and him as he stalks him in the garden, so now only one can be out at once. Dh says no more rabbits so we will just have to find a way to keep him as happy as possible.

Oh, shame. Glad you found her, though.

Poor bunny. and, poor lonely bunny, too. I think it's quite difficult to get them to bond with a new pal, anyway.
