Indoor cage for 2 rabbits

Hello, I am finding it difficult to find a cage of the right size/one that seems sturdy and has good reviews, for my 2 indoor rabbits

I have a dwarf lop and this weekend I am getting a Lionhead to be his friend (he is neutered and she will be when old enough). I'm using the bottom level of a huge rat cage at the moment but want a proper rabbit cage. They're both going to be indoor and cages abour 50% of the day. I'll leave them out in a rabbit proof room with access to the cage when I work, and sit with them out of the cage for an hour or two in the evening as tbey hop round the house, they'll be caged the rest of the time.

I have cats and dogs so need something sturdy, most of what I find looks too small or is expensive and plastic meaning it will be chewed and wrecked? I've found this cage that I quite like - m.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/rabbit_cage/100_cm_cages/284438 and that's about the maximum that I want to spend, but have read that the cage is dark inside and I am not sure if it will be big enough for 2 rabbits. What do you think? (It looks like a hutch design but is an indoor cage)

Can anyone help suggest a better cage? I am looking to buy one tomorrow

Rabbits are litter trained so need room for litterbox, bed, food/water area and a bit of extra space inside the cage. Also want the cage to be able to hold and catch any bedding and hay from falling out - so not shallow sided. Does anyone have one they can recommend? I've trawled through all the internet and can't seem to find anything but maybe I am thinking they need more room than they do as everything seems small?

Thanks in advance!

Sadly, there just aren't any indoor cages that are big enough for one rabbit, let alone two.

If they are in a rabbit proofed room, is there any reason they can't have 24/7 access to that? Or could you consider a large puppy pen with access to a cage as a 'base'?

The room they're in is the front room which is currently used as storage, but is where the door is so people and cats and dogs are in and out so they wouldn't be safe there loose or in a pen without a roof. I looked at dog cages to use but they all have shallow trays and my partner already gets annoyed at hay being thrown out of the cage.

the puppy pen attached to cage sounds good but would just be worried about a cat sneaking in, the dogs are ok with the rabbits and so far the cats are scared of them but still one accident is all it would take for the rabbit to get hurt :(

I've ordered the cage from the link in my OP but I'll just have to try and let them out extra. They will be out during the day 9-4 when I'm at work though and cats/dogs are away and nobody home to use the door so I know they're safe

You can get 4ft high puppy panels, but most cats aren't a problem for rabbits. Ours never bothered the bunnies when they lived indoors. The dogs could be more problematic, but with a bit do training they can be taught to leave the bunnies alone/ignore them. Although I still wouldn't leave them together unsupervised.

Instead of a cage, why not use some play pens? Something like this? Apparently you can stick multiple ones together to make them even bigger.
