piggie dandruff!

My two piggie girls are about 16 months old- One is long haired , the other short straight haired.
Last night I was doing the dreaded nail clipping -they really don't like this but Parsley gets us through it! We noticed that as the short haired piggy had been wriggling around a lot and her hair had been ruffled a bit that dry skin (looked just like dandruff) had come to the surface.
Any ideas what this could be or what I should be giving her to help her-They get a good mixture of veg-Kale, Parsley, tomatoes, carrots , apples and peppers and get two lots of veg snacks a day plus Hay every night.
The other piggy who is long haired doesn't seem to be having the same problem-however she has recently starting trimming her own hair and I have also noticed she has started barbing the short haired piggy is this related?

Thanks

I should add that she doesn't seem to be itching any more than usual or seem uncomfortable and hasn't had out of the ordinary hair loss.

Have a look at the photos on Gorgeous Guineas to rule out if it's a fungal infection (can give dandruffy looking skin ) or lice or possible mites (mites is probably the most common piggy condition)

It might be that central heating (if they are indoor piggies) has dried out the skin.
Does your long haired girl have any knots or tangles? That can make them bite their own fur to remove them.

You can get some little trial bottles from Gorgeous Guineas, they have conditioning shampoos for soft hair and treatment shampoos.

Worth a try to see if reconditioning her fur and skin will ease it (you will need to wash both pigs so they can plot against you Grin , solidarity in their disgust)

Thank you-yes they are indoor piggies and we do have our house quite warm -have avoided keeping them outdoors as we are North Scotland and it would be very cold for them outdoors.
It isn't noticeable on the surface only if she has been picked up and her hair has had a bit of a ruffle.
The long haired one does get tangles -I trim her hair to keep the tangles at bay but a few months ago she started trimming herself -very efficiently ! Looks like she has been to the hairdressers!
Will have a look at gorgeous guineas. I have never bathed them before -I can just imagine how disgusted they would be!!

I've just seen the same thing on my sheltie - he was getting his nails trimmed too! How are yours looking cococandyfloss?
