My little bun is cuddled up on the sofa, she's been outside with lots of hay and a snuggle pad, and a weather proof hut thing. But brought her in this eve, and she is just lying in a heap :-( I've even tried sprouts.... Help?

little bugger - could she have a urine infection?

Keepswimming123 · 27/12/2014 23:31

Yes please cake, preferably with a hint of coriander?? Jeez can't believe about half an hour ago she was flat out barely breathing... Coriander is clearly the way forward!!! She's now lying down, but she's alert. Thank goodness!!! Bloody rabbit.

Oh, that has made my night, little bugger! She's gorgeous. That was interesting reading cake, thank you for linking that list.

CakeUpWall · 27/12/2014 23:31

Aah, she's lovely! Smile

Keepswimming123 · 27/12/2014 23:37

Possibly, although I don't think so... Like I said, vet tomorrow morn first thing, plus vet trainee mate supposed to be dropping by but I fear she may be two sheets to the wind by now (as she should be). Just thankful flipping flopsy (not her name) has decided to revive herself. She is an old bun, as I said. I just want her to be happy... And when she does pass, I want it to be easy for her. She is ignoring all sprouts etc but has her head on my knee. Got a feeling it won't be long for her....

Bless her! She looks gorgeous. So happy that she has perked up now.

Keepswimming123 · 27/12/2014 23:42

This was her about two years ago. Extremely put out, having had a small bath. She was disgusted that we thought she needed it...

Thank you for all your advice and help. Bella has now perked up, and is trying to eat my slippers (yes I am mad bunny woman!) and STOP PRESS IS EATING A SPROUT!!!!! Never thought I would ever be so happy to see a sprout being eaten. If I wasn't so happy she was still alive I would be cuffing her ears for worrying me so much Xmas Grin

Hi Keepswimming. so glad to hear your bun has perked up.
The difference in temperature this time of year can be fatal to small furries, so if you are going to bring her in from outside then bring her into a cool room, not full on central heating. Or if she is an indoor bun then keep her indoors, at least while it is so cold.
We've got a recovering very sick bun at the moment, it's terrifying when they are ill, I know. We thought we were going to lose him a week ago but he has turned a corner the last couple of days. Fingers crossed.
To all bun owners that have commented here - keep Ella's Kitchen baby food in your cupboard, the fruit/veg ones as they are good for syringe feeding a little to get the gut moving if they stop eating - it's enough to keep them going until you can make it to the vet.
Lots of Thanks and [relieved emoticon] to you and bun Grin

BuzzardBirdRoast · 27/12/2014 23:58

Good to know Doris

Keepswimming123 · 28/12/2014 00:05

Thanks Doris. Our house is pretty cold anyway, but she has perked up no end. And eaten all the sprouts... -and now climbed on my lap...Sorry to hear about your bun. Will def heed your advice about Ella's kitchen. Argh she's wriggling about like nobody's business. Bloody hell, I completely thought it was game over half an hour ago. Now she is back in her element. Bella says thus to all who were concerned and would like them to know that she is now eating newspaper, pooing everywhere, and basically being a bun Flowers

Actually - this is a great forum for all things bun.

Keepswimming123 · 28/12/2014 01:36

For all who kindly posted on here with tips, etc, bella is snuggled up in a box of hay with plenty of food and water and greens in a semi cool room of the house. I have however, just been woken up by bloody thirsty foxes trying to rip her 'fox proof' run apart... Perhaps it was fate? Hmm

CakeUpWall · 28/12/2014 02:44

Thanks for the update, and fingers crossed that she's feeling a lot better tomorrow.

BuzzardBirdRoast · 28/12/2014 11:24

Hope she is still doing well. So glad you brought her in!

rastamam · 28/12/2014 12:09

awesome news! ah, yes maybe she was just faking it to get to come in and hide from mr fox!
Also awesome idea about the ellas kitchen there, great idea for easy syringe feeding.

Keepswimming123 · 28/12/2014 14:35

She is so much better! Just put her back outside to stretch her legs and get some sunshine. Thanks for all your advice and tips Flowers
