Flipping rabbit hopping about in the hurricane...

Just spent fifteen mins on my hands and knees trying to coax little miss bunny in from the outside bit of her run into the cosy inside bit (she has one of those posh omlet things, inherited I hasten to add). Flipping thing is hopping about merrily and point blank refusing to come in. Would it be awful to just leave her out? She can come in if she choses and I've put lots of hay and food in the inside part, and lots of tarps on top of the outside part...

If she can get in whenever she wants but is choosing not to I would say she is fine.

It sounds like you've done all you can short of a tranquiliser gun Wink

It sounds like her accomodation is safe as it can be, leave her 10 minutes and hopefully she'll see the allure of the dry warm hay.

I know, I just feel bad! She is still hopping around, and looking fairly happy. Just got back from trying to reassure the horse that Armageddon isn't happening. Won't be able to sleep without worrying! Sad, I know!

Maybe her instinct is telling her to keep out in the open so that (in her rabbit mind) she can run if need be?
Though you know she's safe in her run and wishes she'd take advantage of her cosy omlet house, there's no reasoning with animals.
Hope the horse listened to sense .

Somewhere in Oxford there's a missing guinea-pig (it was on Gumtree) that escaped from her hutch. Poor little thing Sad

I gave my guineas an extra squeeze with their hay and Snugglepad tonight.

Sleep tight all animals and rabbit, be safe.

Thank you, personally i thinks he enjoys seeing her human down other knees in the mud! Fingers crossed she will be ok, she is a stubborn little bun. Horse was extremely well behaved considering there was a full gale blowing outside, and was much more co/operative when offered a nice cosy vs the outside world... Just don't want to wake up and find bunny poorly or ill...

How is obstinate bunny this morning?

They are contrary creatures and, like teenagers, will deliberately do whatever they think will inconvenience/stress you the most. Got to love them Confused

Bun may have felt safer outside as 70 said. I remember the hurricane that poor Michael Fish said wasn't going to happen. I was living 'at home' then, my DM couldn't get our cat in. No idea where he got to, but next day he turned up at the back door like the weather was our fault.

Haha fortified, totally know that look. Bunny is fine today the silly thing! She survived the night and is still merrily hopping away! They are funny creatures aren't they.

Ps I also remember the hurricane... I must have been about four or five at the time and the garden shed blew down, exposing a family of hedgehogs who were sheltering underneath... I wanted to keep them... I was not allowed Shock
