Hi everyone, have you missed me? Grin My computer is broken and DH work laptop gave up the ghost as well. He's got a new one but I can't use it much.

Thursday DD2 school was closed for polling and DD1 was home 'ill', last minute study for GCSE in bed asleep. DD2 and I always make the most of unexpected days off and I took her to the rink to skate on patch time.

First 'phone call from DD1, could I bring her a Greg's sausage roll no we were going to be out all day . I'll hand in my Mumsnet membership now shall I? Blush

Second 'phone call "Mum guess where the guinea pigs were when I looked up from cooking my turkey dinosaurs?" (Yes the guinea pigs do eat better than the kids Blush)

Millie with her big white bum was spotted under the trampoline, happily munching what the lawn mower can't reach. DD1 went out but Millie ran deeper into the undergrowth. DD1 had to crawl under the trampoline to get her.

Coco, brown coat was completely hidden in the flower bed by the fence. But a guilty squeak gave her away and she was swiftly caught.

Strangely, Naughty Girl was the only piggie who had been good and stayed in their summer house. All girls had a telling off and put back indoors in their hutch. No more outdoor fun that day Sad.

What had happened was in the morning, I had moved the run to a fresh piece of grass. I hadn't noticed the ground was uneven. As the piggies had eaten away the grass, they revealed a gap and slipped under for an adventure Wink

When We got home we were met with sad we have no food looks and teen DD1 saying it was just well she was home to study or we would have lost them forever. Ok I'll give her that one Grin

Little Swine Shock
Yes, you owe DD1 (at least a Gregs Sausage Roll) muchos gratuities for her sterling pig wrangling.(I'm sure she'll think of a suitable reward Grin )

And your new girlies definately need a virtual smacked bum (not a real one , before they speed-dial the RSPCA) and a good stern talking at. (Notice I didn't say "talking to " they won't listen anyway Grin )

Something to be aware of with all the flood and drought conditions, our lawn develops much craters in summer. We peg our run down with tentpegs but that means when the soil is solid we can't shift it unless we water some of the lawn, move the run (usually overnight) then let the pigs out when it's dried enough.

Back in the day, my pigs at my parents house were Free Range. Wouldn't risk it in my garden with foxes and cats.

Hi fortified - glad you're back!

I'm sure DD1 is enjoying her heroine status Wink. What naughty pigs. It always amazes me what small gaps they can fit through even if they do have large rumps - stares at SmoothpigGrin. They'll be boasting to Naughty Girl about their wilderness skills now - move over Bear Grylls, the fortified pigs really can survive in the great outdoorsGrin
