DD's hamster loves to chew - will destroy a cardboard tube in seconds.

I hot her some wooden chew things from PAH but she doesnt want anything to do with them, so instead she chews the bars on her cage, which surely cant be good for her to do hour after hour?

What else can I give her?

Not kept hamsters but I used t keep mice (and they are chewy little critters)
We have guinea-pigs, they don't waste time chewing anything that isn't food, apart from cardboard boxes at 3am.

What wood/sticks are safe for hamsters?
There will be sites for hamsters online I'm sure.
(GPs can have some fruit tree twigs and willow) I bought mine a wicker house which they have a chew at.
The shop chews are a bit of a waste of money, most rodents are meh
Those tunnels covered in hay might work? The little hay nests?
Those seed chews (are hamsters allowed seeds?)

The bar chewing I found with the mice was attention seeking rather than wanting to physically chew things.
GPs are too lazy Grin

Is the cage large enough as a lot of hamsters chew out of boredom...

But, in my hamster's cage we have got a wooden maze that they have. They use it as a place to sleep store food etc, and nibble.

Our hamsters also love dog biscuits (Bonios) and will chew them.

Finally, we have got a wooden but if tree that has a hole and food stuffed inside. The hamsters then chew through the wood to get to the food.

The wooden things filled with carrot or parsley from p@h entertained mine for ages www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/rabbit-treats/woodlands-carrot-garden-140g?pageSize=93#
Oh and any of the food stick things that dangle (hang away from sides of cage)

Oh and monkey nuts! You can also stuff food into a toilet roll then stuff toilet roll in the ends (plain cheap stuff not aloe/scented etc) so they have to dig it out

Is your cage big enough? The recommended size is pretty huge
