Carrots for 8 week old Guinea pigs?

Hi all, we just got two female 8 week old guinea pigs yesterday. ATM they are on special vit C pellets from the pet shop where we got them but we don't know whether to feed them a little bit of carrot as well? Can any of you experienced gp owners advise us on whether they can eat carrots, and other types of fruit and veg?!
TIA xx any tips most appreciated!

There's a thread on here at the moment about what our piggies eat. Have a look - they have variety tastes. I would give them veg as well as pellets plus they must have lots of hay.

Guinea-pigs can eat solids from literally a couple of days old ( though they'll stay with Mum until 3-4 weeks nursing)

The only changes I would make between a piglet and an adult diet - you can give your piglets alfafa hay (it is ££ and not so easy to get hold of) but it's not for adults (only nursing or pg sows or for piglets) too much calcium for adults.
And I give mine heavy dog bowls but when GP3 was a piglet I used the shallower ones in case he struggled.
No trouble now getting to the foodbowl Hmm

Congratulations on your new piglets Grin
Try them on a variety of foods, just a small amount chopped up. You'll find out what they like, what they don't like, and it means they won't overeat one food.
(Like parsley is a couple of sprigs 2-3 times a week- stuff and nonsense says GP1, it should be on tap.
