grrr- just annoyed- adopted an older male bunny from PAH and they gave us coupon for free neutering- had op on tuesday and he managed to get out of his cone and nibble at his stitches overnight, so at Wednesday's check up they said he'd have to be stitched up again. they did that procedure and then as we were leaving said we'd be charged £108.... didn't tell us before the re-stitching. We assumed PAH coupon would cover all related charges. Am now annoyed, and worried bunny will just pull his cone off again and open up his stitches! sorry- just more of a rant than anything. I really hope he doesnt open his wound again.

Wow - I don't know where you are but that seems a lot to pay for stitches. My boy was neutered at my lovely vets for a fraction of that and didn't have to wear a cone. Find yourself a lovely local vet for future visits such as vaccinations etc. Hope he behaves himself with the stitches now.

Oh and well done for adopting an older boy.

BTW I don't think the in house vets 'belong' to P@H. I think it is a franchise run by the vets themselves. We have one in our local store and I have heard good things about them but as with all these things it's down to the individual vets.

would have taken him to our local vets who have done a lovely job with all our rabbits and guinea pigs but had this coupon from PAH which was only valid at their partner vets- companion care (as Fernie B says- not owned by PAH)

just annoyed by whole process - they were confrontational, and we felt they were just trying to get as much money out of us as they could...

on the other hand- anyone have any tips on keeping his cone on?

No cone experience but Previous Bun once had a sore on her tummy and to prevent her chewing it I adapted a baby's bib so it could be fastened round her neck but didn't stop her running. She had no interest in her sore but chewed the bib instead.

It was a nice yellow bib with ducks on - got some lovely photos somewhere Grin

I'm sure someone else has cone experience.
