Hi our gorgeous boys came to us yest, both around 6/7 weeks old. Understandably very very nervous. Both lovely funky haired boys, Jesse is black with a bit of gold and Puddles is white and sandy coloured.
Jesse seems less nervous and can be heard munching hay and occasionally moves but poor puddles has barely moved and seems v v scared. We're not attempting any handling and it's v v early days but they're obv traumatised by the whole thing. Please give me words of reassurance that I don't need to spend my day at work worrying about them. My dh at home with poorly ds so has texted me a few updates. Wondering how long we should we leave it a

Glad to hear the piglets are settling in Gingerbics. Bathing pigs is recommended especially smelly boys. I use some aloe vera shampoo which I got from pets at home 2 years ago and it's still going strong.

I'm waiting to bath them until next week when my DH is home as he's quite handy with the hair dryer Grin

Hi everyone, just an update the boys are settling in well and were seeming much more relaxed being held. However the past couple of days they really don't seem keen on being held and are constantly looking for escape routes! One of them then nipped DH so hoping its 'just a phase'? Hopefully they'll settle down again as we were enjoying quite calm cuddles with them in their snuggle nests.

Hi - lovely to hear they are settling in and getting more (too!) confident with you, you have done a good job with them, though babies can be a bit skittish for a while. IF you can, cuddle them in a cuddle cloth, which they will learn to associate with food and stroking - always have a piece of cucumber or blade of grass at hand to distract them.

One of my girls loved to snuggle round my neck when The Archers them music came on and would zonk out into a deep sleep whilst it was on - when the music came on again she would wake up and seemed quite satisfied with her cuddle!! They are still very young so probably just finding their confidence, they don't usually nip, so having a handy piece of food helps to take their mind of biting you!

Hope you all have a lovely christmas together and they have lots of fun on the big day!! Grin

Thanks Guineapiglet, wise words! They seem to have become a bit unruly' whilst being held so will try the snuggle sac rather than
Nest so they can snack whilst being held ( if they cooperate!) and hopefully be less likely to try make a run for it!! Smile
