Been a while aint it?
I backed of MN quite a bit for rather a long time now but for some reason today I fancied a snoop!

LittlePig & BigPig are still taking over a large portion of my living room. BigPig is a very lardy arse at the moment - trying to get that stubborn pig to move is like trying to get blood out of a stone!! He is meant to be on a diet but I feel bad if I give LittlePig a carrot and not him He has also (thanks to dh says he doesn't like them! Pah!) discovered a small love for the odd mini cheddar .

LittlePig has managed to chew a rather attractive hole in my blind - DH wants to put him in a soup, LittlePig is not quite as far in the good books as BigPig

We have had no more singing :(

I have been busy with work and struggling with a utter utter shite year which has led to a bit of depression. Could barely concentrate and follow life for a while so MN was a no go! Things are finally looking up though but I can't wait for this year to be over tbh!

Hello, hello - under a different name, but I have two piggies (sisters) and am currently guinea pig hotel for some mates pigs too. They are MUCH better brought up than my girls and don't even mention how starving they are, just slide quietly out and snaffle things, unlke my two who scream at the physical ache in their little tummies everytime I go near. Am going to go out & get all four in for a cuddle in a mo - my dcs are away this weekend, so am having lots of lovely child free piggie snuggles

I've got a new baby too.
My little GP2 (black Abby) died on the day Andy Murray won Wimbledon.

I got a new piglet boar for my GP1.
New piglet boar now about 5 months old is a bruiser, bigger than GP1 . And I haven't got any pictres of him on my profile . He is real, honest.

Ours are in at the moment (fireworks) judgily in the small bedroom.
The original cage not good enough for the little chap, oh no !

They have a pen. I'm hoping it keeps them in, but it's a good size.

Are your two boys still harmonious?

My two are screamers as well! Worse thing is that the little buggers can tell the time - 6pm on the dot and wheeeek wheeeeeek WHEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!

Sleeping Yeh, I'm alright! I'm a trooper, the dreaded 2013 hit . It is starting to look up so fingers crossed it stays that way!

How did GP1 take to baby pig?

My boys are still side by side, it got a tad hairy during a play sesh together and my nerves can't take it! They seem happy enough though so I'm not too worried - I am dreaming for my nice big house with a pig room so I can get them both wives .

He just "went" - one of those things I'm afraid.
It was horrendously hot. He just went downhill. I did the Critical Care/ Vit C water/ putting in the run with a sunshade in the breeze.
He went to the Guinea-Pig Vet but he didn't find anything specific.
He filed Ninjs teeth back a bit, weighed , temperature ok. Gave him antibiotics and probiotics but GP2 died that evening.

GP1 was as miserable as sin, so when we got his new pig (from Rescue , a week later) he was delighted.
New GP is (we reckon) a Rex. Tries to bonk GP1 from time to time.
GP1 tells him off. Life goes on. ..

Very judgey if in close confines.
They keep to their own private gentlemans quarters but like to have each other to chat to.

GP1 chose GP3. Both boars are agouti, look like twins now, except GP3 has red eyes and pink feet.

And DD loves them.

Oh, I name change quite a bit - so I know you but you probably don't know me. I do pop up on here to chat piggies and poo occasionally though. Sorry to hear about the piggies who have gone to the great dandelion patch in the sky, 70 & sleeping

There have been many (too many) pigs on their way across The Rainbow Bridge this year.

We get an influx of guinea- deaths.

Hi Bonkey - glad to hear from you. Have missed the tales of GP singing - my boys have yet to regale me with a tune, but I live in hope . They are currently yelling for supper, having enjoyed fireworks this evening (they don't know they're supposed to be scared ).

Hello Bonkey. I'm fairly new to this neck of the woods. I volunteered to pig sit for a friend and was idly browsing here and before I knew it, I had offered to rehome two very very cute sows from literally the other end of the country. I'm still not sure how that happened

Anyway, Lily and Lavender have their little furry paws firmly under the table now. We all jump when they yell at us. They are spoilt rotten.

They do sound as lazy as your BigPig though. No matter where we plonk them on the floor, they are virtually guaranteed to still be there an hour later. Lazy feckers!

I am also fairly new to SFA. I have one 4 year old piggy who is - touch wood - now recovering from an abscess and 2 younger ones whose sole aim in life seems to be to get to the cucumber before she does!!

Like you I have a husband who claims not to be too keen on the pigs (well, he certainly wasn't too keen on the vets's fees!) but I've seen the look in his eye as he gives them a cuddle!

70 - I have to agree, there have been far too many piggies turning to the rainbow in the sky!

Sawdust My dh helped me cut their nails t'other week - sooooo much easier with two people, it was the first time he has touched them since we got them a year ago april .

i never realized how easy it was with two people shouldn't need two grown adults to cut a small animals nails

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH hi Bonkey - lovely to hear from you again, so glad you are back. Very sorry to hear about your rough year, I can empathise and send you a big SFA hug - lovely to hear about your boys as well, they still get on even though they can't live together..... bless them both.

My news is that am still guinea-less but luckily have found a lovely family up the new road who are sharing their boys with me a bit, so am now auntie guineapiglet. I do miss their gorgeous smell and personalities in the house, and do still love reading about all the guineas on here, hopefully able to offer a bit of help here and there.

"Gorgeous smell" guineapiglet! Mine only have that for the first 5 minutes after a bath .

But they do smell gorgeous Fernie they do.
All fluffy warm fur, little animal smell.
(Even thought our GP3 had a wee-wee tummy when we brought him in )

Take a deeeeeep breath of Currant Bun, then the guineas.
The guineas will smell like Harrods Perfume Department in comparison

LittlePig smells nice, he has that small furry animal small - BigPig smells like a wee stained fart, I can't resist his handsome face though so we resolve the situation on a reg basis with wipes....

They both seem to enjoy running through wee just before I have to get them back in from playtime

70 - Current Bun is definitely nicer smelling than the pigs. He's all fluffy, warm and slightly biscuity. Even his carrot breath is nice.

The pigs smell great after a bath but then they take a sniff of themselves and each other and stare at me judgily, then (like Bonkey's GPs), run off to create a nice pee puddle to run through so they can smell 'normal' again.

Yes Fernie I had forgotten the eau de 'run through pee' - I guess what smells lovely and hay fresh to us is really boring to them - they like their moulding broccoli and spinach eau de toilette better than our gorgeous guinea bath stuff! Obviously their sense of smell wins out!

I do find a freshly laundered rodent particularly fragrant, and even a relatively clean one can smell divine if plucked from a pile of fresh, quality hay. I just love picking up a pig, nuzzling into it's neck and inhaling.

For some reason, alot of people seem to think this is odd. I can't imagine why!

Yes, it is exactly that 'inhaling' that I miss :(

You're welcome to come sniff mine any time :) I'll even through in the little sister cat (who doesn't smell of anything at all, which is strange, but pleasant in its own way.)
