Our Resident boar (GP1) is spending alot of indoor time since GP2 died.

I was cuddling him (he's on the table next to the PC) but he was climbing up so I put him on my shoulder.
Next thing, the little toad has gripped my earring (silver CZ stud) and I'm gripping the post in his mouth to stop him swalling it. The back was still in my earlobe.

I yelled called frantically for DD , thinking "I can't lose GP1) Shock especially not something as stupid as a swallowed earring.
Little git. That's another life gone.

And he's not talking to me now.

I can live with that.
At least he's here to grumble at me.Hmm

Cheeky GP1 - is he trying to fill the void left by GP2 by being extra naughty? Glad he's okay. How's your earring/ear?

My pigs aren't talking to me at the moment as I trimmed their claws yesterday. GPs are so moody Confused

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/07/2013 22:50

Ear is fine Smile
Earring is back in my ear not making it's way down GP1s alimentary canal (I'd hate to be near when he poohed that out)

DD just said "Well at least we know he's not a werewolf, he can eat silver"

Yes, because at that moment in time THAT was what really worried me.
"What if our pig is a Were-Guinea"

(Trouble is the swine has done it before. Is he just not learning by mistakes or is he getting in touch with his flamboyant side)

Well 70 that was a lucky escape GP1 - trying to get your undivided attention at all times! He definitely wants you to notice him!

One of our girls used to love sitting on a chest, and eyeballing you. She would then start delightfully eating the, eh, inside snotty bit of your nose, in a very affectionate way I might add...... also loved licking skin for the salt I guess. < she would have loved the water here, we have to have a water softener and it is really salty, everything is salty!!!>

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/07/2013 13:54

guineapiglet - GP1 has a very endearing way of eyeballing, ducking under his belly to grab an 'eating pooh', nomnomnom ing while he looks judgily in case you try to steal it Hmm........

THEN asking for a kiss.

Erm, no. Just no Grin

It's only part digested veg maintains DD.

Cheeky tea leaf!

guineapiglet · 12/07/2013 20:04

Yes, I have to say, I don't miss those broccoli flavoured kisses much. But I miss the little furry croissants very much.

IS tomorrow D Day 70? Can't wait to hear how you get on. Good luck GP1 with your choice

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/07/2013 21:17

Yes tomorrow is the new Gotcha Day.

GP1 has had a bath and I've scrubbed the Pighouse and used GP friendly disinfectant.

I found six pairs of scissors tucked into the storage area in their House.
And all this time I was blaming my DS for the scissor shortage Grin

Stealing scissors and earrings! Is he part magpie?

FernieB · 13/07/2013 09:53

Like to add my own little rant about Scruffypig. Why does he only eat green things? Thought I'd had a break through with watermelon until I watched him eating it - he only eats the rind and Smooth eats the flesh. Just had to fill in a form about my boys for the pet hotel (guineapiglet - why don't you still live round here?) and had to say that he only eats green veg!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2013 11:02

I'm sure they are well used to fussy little critters at the Hotel de Cavy .

There might be a chance that he'll branch out and samole some red pepper?

(My DS would only eat orange food when he was weaning. Pureed carrot, sweet potao, beans, spaghetti, lasagne pureed, macaroni cheese -not orange though)

He's turned out okayish.

Maybe your ScruffyPig is some sort of colourblind.Something in the wild to protect them from tomato and herb sauce or Bisto ? Grin

FernieB · 13/07/2013 11:56

Probably the only reason he hasn't attempted to eat Smooth is cos he's white Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/07/2013 19:25

GP1 can't have a bite of GP3 because they are the same colour (almost exact but different coat types)
He'd take a bite out of his own sizeable rump.
GP3 would skip away laughing Grin

oh Fernie, I ask the same question all the time, 'why aren't I still there, - I would have been so happy to guinea sit for you. UNLESS you are going off somewhere on a ferry from Southampton, in which case you could drop them off en route? Where are you sending them? I know a few of the rescues/small pet caring places in the area, I am sure they will be well looked after.

It is strange about the green veg tho. Maybe they have a different smell? Or there is something in the green ( cholorophyll? ) which he likes and does him some good? It is odd he won't be tempted by any other colour? I once read somewhere that guineas don't really see colour, their range is black and white and sort of outlines, shapes etc, but that they have an amazing sense of smell. Maybe, as an experiment you could wrap a banana in an apple peel or something to see if he can be duped?!? Still, he is a healthy boy, all very good for him and makes shopping easier I guess! :)

FernieB · 15/07/2013 22:10

I've tried everything, but he only picks out the green stuff - won't eat tomato, red/ yellow pepper, carrot etc. He's a bit odd but very luffly. Smooth wolfs down everything.

They're staying at a hotel they went to last year where they are very spoilt and have enormous enclosures all to themselves. Last time they did not want to come home.
