Guinea Pig daily routine?

What things do you do to care for your guineas without fail, every day?

I'm just wondering if I'm handling/cleaning their bowls etc as much as others .

My GP2 is black.
Just that -black.
He livens it up a notch by having one fatty eye and a weird assortment of half hearted rossettes.

and the pumpiest bottom that is presently under my chin. Envy

I love rosettes, both mine are smooth.

Always think that they wouldn't be as easy to stroke though iyswim.

Big pig has taken to sitting at the back of my neck, under my pony tail (I have to put my hair up for cuddles or it smells afterwards) on the back of the sofa. No idea why!

How good is their balance?

I'm scared on day he is going to fall off Confused

Balance not good (though if you are sitiing down he'll probably climb onto the back of the sofa as well).Just in case he goes down the back of it.
I don't let GP1 go up onto my neck because he can be a bit free with his kissy bites.
GP1 jumped out of my arms early this year, so I definately don't trust him.And he didn't land on 4 feet like a cat.
Took years off me and I felt like the biggest sh*t because -although I didn't throw him or drop him, he chose to jump- I didn't anticipate it.
That's partly why that Daily Mail story I posted upset me so much. My GP chose to leap, that man chose to throw. Angry.

Proper Abyssynians are rough furred to form the rossettes. GP2 is fluffy and soft. And purrrrrs when you stroke him.

Not sure what constitutesa herd but have 20 permanet girls and 6 boys. Boys live separately though

20 girls:6 boys = 6 very happy boys Grin

After reading about 3 GP deaths and a heat-affected rabbit, I dived out to do a late-night check on the GPs. I opened the lid of their haybox to circulate fresh ( huh, fresh air with 2 boys) air round them. They'd troughed their supper salad and looked very judgey for having been woken.
But cool. That was my main concern.

I woke at 6am, the smell of woodsmoke from a neighbours bonfire. My addled brain was "OMG the GP house is on fire..."

Of course it wasn't, they are fine.
It's back to Sleep Deprived Mum mode when your toddler has to sleep in a hot room and you can't leave the window open in case they escape Hmm

Alll in now after the big 4 hour clean. I moved the pens around the lawn and it looks like it's been mown!

Put the paired up girls into the maternity wing as they should have taken by now. Boys looking a bit muffed but they will get another "wife" each next month!!
