GP2 managed to get wee on his belly yesterday (I had to quickly hoist them into his cage as it suddenly poured down) Of course I'd cleaned the cage to let it air so just newspaper, no hay.
Then GP1 did a huge puddle and GP2 bloody walked through it.
His belly is dry, but he stinks.
Being on hay hasn't neutralised it.
I can't bath them till the weekend ( I can't imagine it's doing his skin any good)
I haven't got sawdust or bran (only branflakes Grin )
Holding my breath is the only option?

Babywipes?

QueenBonkeyMollocks · 31/05/2012 18:13

Ooo what about some animal deodorant? Although guessing if you had some of this then you would have used it Confused

I have some cage cleaner which is safe for using on animals. Smells like coconut Grin

Maybe Febreeze isn't such a bas idea Grin

My two are in disgrace :( Another fight, big pig has a bloody nose, although it was compleatly his fault!
Little pig has suddenly gone all cuddly and looks like butter wouldn't melt Hmm

Little buggers aren't they?
GP1 was having a nice scratch, GP2 barged past him, earning himself a bite for his impudence.
They were on their way to a plate of cut grass. GP2 stood on the edge of the plate and flipped it up onto GP1 face. Hmm.

I blame the low pressure- thunder brewing.

I'm considering Extra Firm Hold Hairspray to freeze them into virtual suspension. Grin

How about giving GP2 a wash over with a flannel on the smelly bits and a gentle rub dry with a towel.

Funnily enough our old boar had a bath last weekend for the same reason, covered in his own pee. Whilst I prepared his bath, one of the girlie pigs wriggled out of a gap under the run and I found them running around playing kiss chase.Shock Now on pregancy watch Blush.

Excellent day for the old boy. First an encounter with a sow and then a nice bath balls deep in Johsons Baby in a washing up bowl having his old back legs rubbed. Bliss.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/05/2012 18:56

Shock Is covering his undercarriage in wee a form of foreplay for a GP?
He lives with his brother. I'll stand well back....

Hopefully your old boar didn't have the time to have his wicked way with girlie GP. I suppose only time will tell. I would be just S*d's Law if they managed in that time.

Pigs are back in their lovely cleaned (again) haybox. I'll give him a bath tommorrow afternoon.
They didn't appreciate the dryer last time. It's a box of straw for them.

Sounds like your boar had a whale of a time fortified! Grin

Nagoo · 31/05/2012 19:24

I'd buff him with a baby wipe.

fortifiedwithtea · 31/05/2012 19:28

Indeed he did QueenBonkey. Grin 70isaLimitNotaTarget I'm hoping the old boy is too creaky to catch a young girlie but it would be S*ds Law. Hmm

KRITIQ · 01/06/2012 11:30

Oh, what's better than baby wipes are those toddler wipes. They often have a stronger scent - lemon or orange mainly (one of the supermarkets does a melon scented one - avoid, it honks!) They are also good if you have misfortune to have a boar with impaction. (vom) Envy

I read this way too quickly and thought it was GD as in 'granddaughter'.

I am mighty relieved, I can tell you Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/06/2012 11:43

I was going to go all Les Dawson's Cissie and Ada and hoik my bosom while chewing my teeth.

How very dare you, Grandaughter indeed, I'm only 46......

But I am old enough to have a grandaughter Shock Grin
