One of our male GPs ( smooth coated) had a small, firm lump on his belly, halfway between his front leg and back leg.
I found it at New Year and have kept an eye on it. I know GPs are prone to lumps (fatty) and tumours (benign or malignant). My old GPs (2 Himalayan sows) had largish lumps in the baggy bit of their necks when they got old. Very slow growing, and didn't worry them. They lived to 5 & 7.
GP boar's lump was the size of a Smartie.
Definately not an abcess. Firm and imobile. His skin moved over it IYSWIM, so attatched deeper than skin level.
But it's gone
DD and I held him up and felt all over (I was thinking maybe it has moved) but I can't find where to?
I've ruled out abcess or bite because it was there too long, didn't change, was dry, and no break in skin.
Hernia?
Too high for an undescended testicle (I hope).
I'll keep checking him and if I find it again I'll take him to the vet.
Or maybe I've got magic healing hands it's just a mystery.
