Baby guinea pigs - when to seperate from mother

Funnily enough, our guinea pig which had been separated from her mama and papa at the age of 8 weeks, gave birth to twins just a few weeks later.

The twins are now three and a half weeks old, both male, and I think they should now be separated from the mother? Or are they still too small?

We really do not want to risk more piglets.

This site is pretty useful:

but yes, they probably should be separated now. It feels harsh when they are that tiny, but more babies is probably not good!

thank you! I will look up that site. The person who gave us the first a(already pregnant) one tells me we should wait until they are 8 weeks old, but I don't think we should trust her anymore!

I've been told all sorts of numbers, honestly, very confusing!!

I think 4.5-5 weeks is fairly standard. 8 weeks too late, though.

They need to be separated by 3 weeks.
