Is there any thing I should NOT feed my piggies?

I am now a proud owner of 2 very handsome piggies, and already very PFB over them !! I have been giving them carrots, but is there any fresh fruit / veg I should not give them? ( eg will they eat stuff like potato peel, how about kiwi fruit, banana, ) . I have got them proper piggy food, and hay as well.

Rhubarb, huge no no. Lethal.
Buttercups, dock, daisies(?), and any part of tomatoes/potato that you wouldn't eat yourself. All supposed to be toxic to GPs, but tbh, most piggies end up having small amounts off the lawn without obvious ill effects. They gobble banana skins ime but best not to give them as they are usually loaded with fungicides.

They are like horses & ruminants, hay should be the main part of their diet with just a bit of other stuff, especially something rich in vitamin C needed. Else they'll get too fat. Brassica cuttings (like brocoli stalks & cauliflower heads) are perfect for Vit C.

They can't have iceburg lettuce either, but they'll love other types. This website is pretty good for info about piggies in general:

The golden rule is really "if it comes from a bulb, no". Fruit is mostly fine, just be careful not to give them too much or they'll get fat!

Carrots and other hard veg (e.g. parsnip) are good for their teeth. They'll pretty soon let you know what they do and don't like!

Mine loved watermelon and apple twigs are good for their teeth.

They are fussy little critters. Some of my piggies loved banana and oranges, others hated them.

They always had the leaves and stalks from my home grown brussel sprouts.

any pork based products :o

they just won't eat it if they don't like the look/smell of it so I wouldn't worry too much. some people say no potatoes but mine ate loads one time when I left some on the kitchen floor by mistake while they were running round and they were fine - mine have also eaten rhubarb leaves and been fine. neither are foods i'd intentionally give them but if they do get a nibble, no need to rush them to the vets.
they love parsley

Apparantly avocado is poisonous to guineas. And citrus fruits and apples can give them ulcers on their lips.

Ours would kill for parsley.

And ds sometimes spends his pocket money on a bag of posh salad for them - they particularly like the lollo rosso!
