OUCH!

Fucking piggies keep biting me!

You all said 'get piggies' 'so cute' 'rabbits bit' 'easy to handle piggies' 'piggies love people' 'piggies great for little one'

What am i doing wrong :( i love the buggers but they've just drew blood!

How can i make my piggies love me back - boohoo :(

They are girls called Cookie and Coco (Coco is the bitch that bites Wink ) and are about 12 weeks now, have also got the class piggies here who are lovely and tame so perhaps you're not all liars, but some of you have a bit of explaining to do!

[BabyDubs with a very stern face, hand on hip, blood dripping from finger, tapping foot waiting...]

Help me then please :(

Guineas are much more sociable animals than rabbits however there will always be an exception to the rule!!

Are you washing your hands thoroughly before handing each pig, if you don't wash your hands you can have the smell of food on your hands or the smell of another guinea pig and they then want to explore that (especially the class piggies). How old were they when you got them?

At 12 weeks they are still unsure of themselves or their surroundings and are likely to be a bit excitable and still want to hide away preferring not to be held if possible, they will get more used to it and will become more accomodating.

Is Coco suffering any health problems? Any lumps, bites, scratches, how do her teeth look? She may be unhappy if she is ill. Do they get on okay in their hutch with each other?

And also, are you 100% sure they are both girls? They are more likely to be tempremental if they can smell opposite sex hormones IYSWIM? This may be the case if they are near the class piggies too.

Persevere and it will hopefully improve, one of my boys hates being held but doesn't bite and once he is caught he is fine to sit and be stroked whilst the other is as laid back as they come!

We have two girls and one of them bites Hmm She mostly just seems to be very greedy and feisty so she just nips a bit (doesn't break the skin), possibly just to make a point. She bullies her sister a lot as well, although they seem pretty happy together so I'm not too worried.

You are incredibly unlucky, so :( to hear it.
I suggest you ask for advice on Rodents with Attitude fora.
