I just went out to give some greens to them and out hopped a black and white mini-me!

We put them in the greenhouse when the weather got very cold and they have dug absolutely huge burrows which must be where they were hiding it!

It has hidden again now and I can't see where it could be. I am wondering how old it is and if there are more in there!

I can't believe none of us have noticed this before - we go in there at least twice a day!

It's very rarely one! Congratulations!

EmmaBGoode · 15/02/2011 13:50

I think it's great the way we are so accepting of same-sex parenting these days. Congrats to the happy couple Grin !

drivingmisscrazy · 15/02/2011 13:51

maybe they are afraid that they will be ostracised from the straight bunny community?

Baby bunnies take a long time to come out of the nest so they will have been there a while. Congratulations.
I suspect a wee visit to the vet is in order to have one or both "fixed" so they can continue to live in bliss together.
It is, however, possible that she is pregnant again already. Grin
Photos? Everyone loves a baby bunny!

Cyclebump · 15/02/2011 21:51

Awwwww, little baby bunnies, how sweet. Get them fixed though or you'll be overrun! Or should it be overhopped?

MappandLucia · 16/02/2011 12:27

They are possibly the cutest things I have ever seen!

I have been hovering with my camera but I'm a bit concerned as I haven't seen them today, but am hoping it's because it's a good bit colder than yesterday.

Mum and dad are currently curled up together on a bench (hoping it's not in a post coital glow)ignoring the fact they've got several children somewhere.

Father booked in for snip! Please don't let the female be pg again!

Is there anything special I should be doing regarding food? I have no idea about this. I have upped all foods for the adults.

Rabbits are amazing. They will pretty much get on with it. Make sure they have plenty hay, water, food etc.

The mother only feeds them once a day I think and would naturally leave them in the burrow while she went out to graze so don't worry that she is ignoring them.

How will you tell who is the Dad? Are you taking them both to the vet on the day of the appt so he/she can choose his patient?

You will have to find out the gender of the babies too as they could get each other or the mother pregnant if there are any boys in there.

I don't know how long it takes for baby rabbits to become sexually active but it is something you will need to watch out for.

Carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2011 14:39

baby rabbits

Carrotsandcelery · 17/02/2011 16:31

How are your bunnies getting on? Have you thought about what you are going to do with them as they mature? Are you going to keep them all or rehome them is what I mean. Any joy with the photos?

MappandLucia · 18/02/2011 17:00

Thanks Carrots - I had just been reading that website!

The babies are thriving and we are in love! They are becoming more tenacious by the day and will now sit in the food bowl and nibble away.

Dad has been identified and booked in for snip. Vet has advised me re sexula maturity of babies etc.. Am hoping to rehome them all in pairs, lots of families at school seem interested.

Am going to attempt photos in a min..
