Even if it is only me—I’m here, I’m trying. I very much hope to free myself from my addiction to junk food. Anyone of a similar mindset is very welcome to join me.

I’ve had years of trying and failing, but a lot of success at times, too. Just for today I’m working hard to recognise a craving for what it is and be present before I reach for the crap.
A lot of times it’s in my mouth before I fully realise what I’m doing.

I’ve just recently done four months free👍🏻then DH starts a health kick too, and rather than making the most of the support, I start secretly eating junk.🤷‍♀️

Junk food has been avoided so far today. It helps that I’ve been busy with work and appointments. I’ve now got a bit of downtime and this is sometimes when I struggle. The junk food monster kicks into overdrive. You’re tired, you’ve had a long day, you really deserve a treat! Fuck this healthy eating, it’s just too hard at the moment. Start tomorrow.
If I had a pound for every time I said to myself “I’ll start tomorrow,” I’d be giving Elon serious worries.
I have loads of techniques I can use for when a craving hits, but very often I’m not present enough to even recognise craving before I act on it. My brain says “This needs to happen, do it now!” And I’m jumping to obey before I can even take a breath. There’s no struggle at all that I would even recognise as a craving. I just need to work on that moment of pause between the suggestion and the action, to give me time to intervene.

You’re doing so well! I have given up white bread, cakes and general rubbish but only about a week ago. Replacing them with any fruit or healthy things I fancy even if they are pricey. This has really helped with the “reward” factor. I do love exotic fruit and nuts and stuff! I think my cravings have decreased because I’m not on a sugar rollercoaster.

Another day one.
Despite a great start yesterday, I had a big event in the evening, came home late and then ate a load of crisps. It was pure emotional eating. No thought that I had any alternative. I only realised it was a problem this morning when I woke up and thought about what I’d done last night. It really was that unconsciously done. Still need a lot of work on being present with my emotions, clearly.
