Quitting smoking advice

Hi, in last couple of days I've found out I'm pregnant, not exactly planned. Anyway, I smoke and been trying to quit, but does anyone have any advice of a way to ease the cravings without vapes and fags please. I've tried gum but it makes my throat itch and ideally want to find natural ways to reduce the cravings. I heard CBD oil may help but any advice would be great. The vomitting and nausea helping with it a tad haha

I quit smoking 4.5 weeks ago, after nearly 30 years. I read and re-read Allen Carr's book. I'd heard good things about it but was v sceptical but it really has worked. I do get cravings but thanks to the book, I reframe them in my mind and have been able to not give in. As suggested in the books (I read two different ones) I didn't use vapes, nicotine patches, gum etc, cause it would just prolong the issue. I am 98% sure I won't go back to smoking, mainly because I don't want to go through giving up again 😁

You can do this, just remember that you don't actually want a cigarette, it's just the monster cravings trying to get you hooked again. It's not the smoking that you miss or that chills you out etc, it's the addiction getting its fix.

I've seen this book recently on Spotify audio books and considered getting it. I'm using gum at moment, normal gum not nicotine, so when a craving hits, use airways and focus on the chewing until the craving passes

@Silverchalk46 I bought mints, bags and bags of mints which, looking back, wasn't the best idea considering I'm trying to lose weight! I still get the jaw tension which has always been when I have a cigarette. I just try to distract myself now when I have that feeling. I play games on my phone or get up and go and do something. It's getting better, but I did think the cravings would be gone by now.

Definitely get the book if you can afford it. I've also just got a couple of his weight loss ones, fingers crossed they work as well for me 😁

I quit about 15 years ago after reading this book. No patches, gum etc
By the time I'd finished the book I was a non smoker

The couch to 5k running app was good for losing weight and if you have playstation, beat saber and synth riders, they make exercise fun, it's on vr

I'm 6 days in and no fags woop. I bought an anxiety necklace thing, it's essential an small metal straw and it's been fab for quitting. I pretend it's a vape and just suck air haha it's been really helpful to focus on and use when cravings hit!

Agree with the recommendation for the Allen Carr book. They also run seminars with a high success rate. I attended one years ago and it worked for me. Good luck.
