Dihydrocodeine addiction

I was prescribed Dihydrocodeine for an injury 6 months ago. Long story short - I was abusing them. Sometimes taking up to 10 per day.
I've contacted my GP and asked that they are no longer prescribed for me.
I took my last one yesterday!! I exercised yesterday in attempt to combat any withdrawals. I had a poor sleep last night (restless legs) but apart from that I'm ok!

It's now over 24hrs with no DHC & I'm wondering if I'm going to be ok or if the withdrawals will suddenly hit me?
I feel slightly flat in mood but I'm guessing my brain will be adjusting.

Has anyone experienced this?

I know this is a few months ago, but good for you. You’ve got this, wherever you’re at right now.

I was okay coming off them and dint really have any withdrawals. Tramadol on the other hand was horrendous. You may be pleasantly surprised and well done for recognising there was a problem and taking steps to deal with it.

My husband came off codine much easier than tramodol don’t think he ever got over them the drs gave him no help and one even told him he was weak - they started it in the first place as they gave the codine out like sweeties he was taking 240 codine a week it’s amazing he’s still alive -but with strength and determination you can do anything !
